Why I started with phone cases为什么我先做手机壳

A phone case is a small object, but it has a hard job: it has to protect something expensive while feeling like it belongs in your hand.手机壳是个小物件，但任务不轻：它要保护一部很贵的手机，同时握在手里要自然。

I wanted a first product where material and structure actually matter. Aramid fibre, full-grain leather and drop protection are three different answers to the same question — what should a case be made of, and what should it refuse to do?我想做的第一个产品，是材质和结构真的重要的东西。芳纶纤维、头层皮革和防摔结构，是同一个问题的三种答案：手机壳该用什么做，又该拒绝做什么？

Phone cases also force honesty. Every material has a limit. Aramid is light and thin, but thin is not the same as shock-absorbing. Leather ages, but it needs care. A drop-proof shell protects, but it is heavier. A site that hides those limits is selling a story, not a product.手机壳也逼人诚实。每种材质都有边界。芳纶轻、薄，但薄不等于吸震；皮革会变旧，但需要保养；防摔壳保护力强，但更重。一个隐藏这些边界的网站，卖的是故事，不是产品。

The second venture is LUMIKEY, a cosmetics OEM/ODM manufacturer in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Different product, same questions: can it be made properly at a small scale, does it have a real reason to exist, and can it be sold outside China?第二个项目是 LUMIKEY，一家在广州和香港的化妆品 OEM/ODM 制造商。产品不同，问题一样：小规模能不能做好？它存在的理由真实吗？能不能卖到中国以外？
